Information on FUNDING
Better Pathways Coaching works within the Enabling Good Lives and Choices in Community Living (CICL) frameworks to deliver assistance to individuals; and the Ministry of Health systems that financially support this.
Enabling Good Lives holds that disabled people and families can bring about positive change when they have:
- Control over resources (e.g. personal budgets
with options of how these are managed), - Access to an independent ally
- Access to resources to build regional and national leadership and investment in disabled people, families and their communities.
Choices in Community Living (CICL) is an alternative to residential services, and opens up opportunities for disabled people with high needs and their family, to have choice and control about – where they live,
who they live with, and how they are supported.
Steps to receiving funding include:
- Taikura Trust needs assessments. Coordinators will assess your needs and approve funding. info@taikura.org.nz
- Organizations such as Renaissance and Geneva offer fund management and support.
- If funding seems too limited, individuals and/or whanau can contact their support coordinator to increase funding to include options such as Life Coaching.
